Company Profile
The Southern Nuclear Imaging Group (SNI) consists of three private Nuclear Medicine practices. The individual practices at Bankstown, Wollongong and Nowra are dedicated to providing an extensive range of nuclear medicine procedures. Our physicians are all members of relevant professional associations. Their memberships include the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM), the Association of Physicians in Nuclear Medicine (APNM) and the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM). The technologist staff are all accredited with the ANZSNM and members of the ANZSNM, ANZSNMT and the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR). SNI have also obtained accreditation (with the ANZSNM) for the training of Nuclear Medicine Technologists at Bankstown, Wollongong and Nowra. SNIG's physicians have had extensive experience in the field of Nuclear Medicine. Dr Norman Lyons founded the first practice in 1987. Norm was Director of Nuclear Medicine at St. George Hospital prior to entering the private sector. Drs Phillip Monaghan and Robert Dickinson have also had extensive experience in the public sector and have both been principals of SNIG for well nearly fifteen years. On January 2005 we welcomed Dr Patrick Donnelly to our group. Pat has trained in Nuclear Medicine at Prince of Wales and Bankstown Hospitals following a 14 year career as a Consultant Paediatrician. His areas of interest include Nuclear Cardiology, Bone Mineral Densitometry and Paediatric Nuclear medicine. Recently (in 2009) we have Dr Bill Mouratidis (two days a week) and Dr George Larcos join us. Bill has added experience in Ultrasound and has trained at The Hospital For Children in Canada. George has been Director of Nuclear Medicine for a number of years at Westmead Public Hospital.
