Please Watch this page for "Case Studies". The examples have been selected from studies performed at a SNI site. Case Study #1- DTPA Renal Differential with Lasix Case Study #2- Bone Mineral Densitometry. An example of a normal study. Case Study #3- Iterative Recon compared to FBP in WBC SPECT. Case Study #4- Bone Scan for Knee Trauma including SPECT Imaging. Case Study #5- Normal Lung with SPECT imaging. Case Study: DTPA Renal Differential with Lasix. This is a follow-up study on a SNIG patient. Since 1994 this person has attended for follow-up DTPA Renal Scans with Lasix and also GFR studies. The person has had bilateral urinary diversions for previous bilateral ureteric obstruction. The renal display immediately demonstrates markedly reduced perfusion to the RT kidney and a "cold" area in the region of the LT renal pelvis. Hold up of radiourine is evident in both collecting systems, particularly on the left side. At 27mins 40 mg of lasix was infused. Curves were generated from regions over the whole kidney and the renal cortex. Transit time and differential functions were calculated. Deconvolution analysis can also be performed using the Siemens ICON processing stations. The 80/20% left to right differential function is similar to that established in earlier studies. The significantly prolonged mean cortical transit time in the RT kidney and adequate clearance of radiourine from both kidneys following lasix infusion are demonstrated. Some hold-up is evident in the urinary diversions. DTPA renal scintigraphy is a simple non-invasive way to access the results of surgery and to monitor kidney function. Knee Scan Post Trauma involving Ligament and Cartilage damage.
