Our MissionThe Southern Nuclear Imaging Group strive to remain the leading providers of quality Nuclear Medicine services in the area stretching from the south of Sydney to the Eurobodalla (Batemans Bay) region and beyond.
Company Profile
The Southern Nuclear Imaging Group (SNI) consists of four private Nuclear Medicine practices. The individual practices at Bankstown, Wollongong, Nowra and Bateman's Bay are dedicated to providing an extensive range of nuclear medicine procedures. Our physicians are all members of relevant professional associations. Their memberships include the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM), the Association of Physicians in Nuclear Medicine (APNM) and the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM). The technologist staff are all accredited with the ANZSNM and members of the ANZSNM, ANZSNMT and the Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR). SNI have also obtained accreditation (with the ANZSNM) for the training of Nuclear Medicine Technologists at Bankstown, Wollongong and Nowra. SNIG's physicians have had extensive experience in the field of Nuclear Medicine. Dr Norman Lyons founded the first practice in 1987. Drs Phillip Monaghan and Robert Dickinson have also had extensive experience in the public sector and have both been principals of SNIG for almost 20 years. In 2009 Dr Bill Mouratidis (two days a week) and Dr George Larcos joined us. Bill has added experience in Ultrasound and has trained at The Hospital For Children in Canada. George is a past Director of Nuclear Medicine at Westmead Hospital, President of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Physicians in Nuclear Medicine (ANZAPNM) and Editor of the Australian Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine. As well as working with SNIG he is also a NM Physician at Westmead Public Hospital and an Associate Professor at Sydney University. Most recently we have been pleased to welcome Dr Rebecca Concannon. Rebecca was trained at the Westmead public hospital under the tutelage of Dr Larcos. She has a particular interest in the utility of Hybrid imaging (SPECT/CT) in nuclear medicine. She has also trained in Paediatric nuclear medicine.
